Will it make any difference?

The product has been tested in a number of environments to support its claims; however, sound doesn't just travel through the walls. The noise coming from the street or the neighbours will travel through the walls as well as through your ceiling and the floors and if these aren't insulated they'll act as an amplifier. Please take this into consideration before installing Sound Insulation Liner.

Benefits
6mm polyurethane provides the same sound insulating effect as 100mm of concrete, 51mm of glass and 22mm of wood. The sound frequency absorption is as follows:

• up to 24% for 1000 Hz
• up to 62% for 2000 hz
• up to 89% for 3000 Hz

Adhesive
Use Wallrock Thermal Liner Adhesive for best results or any strong and solvent free adhesive. Typical adhesive consumption is 2.5kg per roll.

Finish and texture
Because the PUR foam is pre-laminated with Wallrock Skim Liner (very thin wallcovering) it can be painted. However, to get perfect finish you can consider any of the paste-the-wall products such as:

Wallrock Fibreliner – smooth finish
Wallrock Premium – plaster like finish
Wallrock Trend – paintable textured wallpapers
1100 Paste the Wall Lining Paper - cost effective paste-the-wall option

The product surface can be painted directly, but we'd recommend that the Sound Insulation Liner is overhung with any of the products mentioned above and decorated with emulsion paint - other paste-the-wall type of wallcoverings can be used as well. These products reinforce the surface and don't shrink or expand. Conventional wallpapers such as normal lining paper or printed papers are likely to continually expand and shrink as room temperatures and humidity change - this can lead, in extreme cases, to gaps and lifting appearing on the product surface over time.

Considerations
When planning to use Erfurt MAV Sound Insulation, please consider its thickness (6mm) in relation to all the fittings you might have in the room such as light switches as well as skirting boards.
